Project Overview
A vital river crossing connecting the cities of Jurupa Valley and Riverside, the aging 70-year-old Mission Boulevard bridge was deemed seismically deficient and in need of replacement. Together, the County of Riverside and the cities of Jurupa Valley and Riverside will rebuild it to current bridge standards with improved safety and access for all users.

The reconstructed bridge features structural, seismic, and hydraulic state-of-the art design to meet current bridge standards. The new 1,100-foot-long bridge includes two traffic lanes with shoulders in each direction, a concrete center median, and a multi-purpose trail separated from traffic along the south side. Construction
The bridge will be constructed in two stages, starting with the northern bridge span, then the southern span. The contractor of record is Skanksa.
Traffic Impacts
- 3 lanes of traffic will remain open
- 2 Eastbound Lanes
- 1 Westbound Lane
- Expect daytime lane closures during work hours
- No long-term bridge or road closures are currently planned.
- Expect daytime lane closures at both ends of the bridge with advance public notification.
- Weekend closures with advance public notification may be necessary for bridge work.
